A Chainsaw Man Fan’s Tribute to Himeno: Remarkable Cosplay Showcases Her Distinctive Coolness

Devil Hunter of the Public Safety Division Himeno comes to life with the Chainsaw Man Cosplay, which is a perfect example of cool and swagger.

A Chainsaw Man fan created stunning costumes for the Ghost Devil Contract holder.

The costume was designed and uploaded to Reddit on behalf of the popular cosplayer Kerocchi. It features Himeno’s iconic eyepiece and chic black suit. The low angle of the picture and the cigarette balanced delicately between two fingers give off an appearance of swagger and coolness.

Chainsaw Man fans’ stunning cosplay

Himeno isn’t just a fan-favorite Chainsaw Man character who has inspired impressive instances of cosplay lately. For example, another costume maker extraordinaire posted a manga-accurate rendition of Reze that spotlights the Bomb Girl’s vibrant green eyes. Grayson Finn, a cosplay legend, showcased his portrayals of Kishibe the captain of Tokyo Special Division 4 in various ways. The first version depicts the character smoking a cigarette and another depicts him holding an amputation knife. Both include Kishibe’s prominent facial mark.

Tatsuki Fujimo’s Chainsaw Man manga debuted in Shueisha Weekly Shonen Jump in December 2018 and was later moved to Shonen Jump+ 2020 where it will continue its serialization. The story centers around Denji, a young man with a large debt who must take on dangerous jobs to pay off his debt. Denji is hired by a mysterious government agency after his gangster boss’s betrayal. Denji is a part of the Public Safety Division and works with other Devil Hunters such as Himeno. He makes use of his unique ability to transform his limbs into chainsaws, to hunt down monsters.

Chainsaw Man is at the top of the NYT Bestsellers List

Even though Chainsaw Man premiered relatively recently, Fujimoto’s series already stands against classics like Hiro Mashima’s Rave Master and Yoshiyuki Sadamoto’s Neon Genesis Evangelion as one of the best-selling manga ever with more than 23 million copies sold all over the world. The series also appears on the NYT Bestsellers List multiple times and was awarded the Best Manga Category at the Harvey Awards both in 2021 and 2022.

Chainsaw Man’s anime adaptation by the studio MAPPA (Jujutsu Kaisen) originally aired its first season from October until December 2022. It stars Kikunosuke Toya in the role of Denji along with Mariya Ise (Fairy Tail) as Himeno, Shogo Sakata (Fire Force) as Aki, Tomori Kusunoki (The Misfit at Demon King Academy) as Makima, and Fairouz Ai (Trapped in a Dating Sim: The World of Otome Games is Tough for Mobs) as Power. As of the writing time of the article, it’s unclear if the Chainsaw Man anime will receive a second season because the home video release has been very disappointing.

VIZ Media distributes Fujimoto’s manga in North America.
